CPNA Board Letter of Opposition to Proposed OBRC Industrial BottleDrop Location on North Lombard
Unanimously approved by CPNA Board March 12th, 2024.
Cathedral Park Neighborhood Association opposes the location of a BottleDrop at the former Dollar
Tree site at 7740 N. Lombard. The site purchased by Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative (OBRC)
a coalition of beverage industry distributors, comprises one full block that faces North Lombard, the
civic corridor and main street for the entire North Portland community. It is also located in the midst of
a small business hub and residential area.
This location is entirely inappropriate for BottleDrop due to the number of people it attracts and the
security issues that have occurred at their other sites, particularly the nearest one at Delta Park.
