Human Access Project will be having a grand opening party in partnership with Portland Parks and Recreation on June 29th from 2-7pm. This will be celebrating the new $900,000 dock (of which Human Access Project contributed $300,000 of the cost) and the removal of 150 tons of concrete and rubble from the beach by 250 volunteers between 2021-2023. The event will have the following schedule: 2-3:30pm there will be free safety clinic conducted by Black Swimming Initiative to teach basic swimming safety skills. This will be very basic open instruction on a walk up basis. 3:30-4pm there will be an official ribbon cutting 4-7pm there will be live music. There will also be free kayak rentals from mosquito fleet, food sold by food vendors and community booths including a Metro who will be giving away lifejackets.	Sunday June 30

Set-up will begin at 3:00 pm, with the performance lasting from 7:00 – 8:00 pm. Everything will be removed and all personnel out of the park by 10:00 pm. The performance will feature students of our Young Artist Institute (string quartets and solo string instruments, possibly with piano) on the mobile concert stage, SoundsTruck NW. This is produced as part of our 2024 Summer Festival community engagement initiatives. We invite you and the neighborhood to join us! Human Access Project will be having a grand opening party in partnership with Portland Parks and Recreation on June 29th from 2-7pm. This will be celebrating the new $900,000 dock (of which Human Access Project contributed $300,000 of the cost) and the removal of 150 tons of concrete and rubble from the beach by 250 volunteers between 2021-2023. The event will have the following schedule: 2-3:30pm there will be free safety clinic conducted by Black Swimming Initiative to teach basic swimming safety skills. This will be very basic open instruction on a walk up basis. 3:30-4pm there will be an official ribbon cutting 4-7pm there will be live music. There will also be free kayak rentals from mosquito fleet, food sold by food vendors and community booths including a Metro who will be giving away lifejackets.	Sunday June 30 30
